After all, love is love and watching an LGBTQ+ couple in the white screen helps.

Call Me By Your Name
This Italian movie by Luca Guadagnino is one of the most talked about movies of 2018. Its incredibly emotionally moving story featured a summer love in Italy between an American and a French-Italian teenager boy. The soundtrack was made by Sufjan Stevens and it received highly positive critiques.
Call Me By Your Name was a movie adapted from the novel by Andre Aciman but the movie blew up even more than the book. It also reflected some Monet paintings.
Since, the director Luca Guadagnino is filming a new HBO series “We Are Who We Are” who follows teens’ journey into exploring their identities.
The Danish Girl
Danish Girl was filmed by Best director Oscar-winner Tom Hooper and the lead actors are Eddie Radmayne who had won an Oscar and Alicia Vikander. It tells the story of a transsexual in the 1930s. As we watch her transition into becoming a woman, we go through her thought processes.
Brokeback Mountain
One of the most iconic movies celebrating gay love, Brokeback Mountain explores the story of Ennis and Jack who are two shepherds. They develop a sexual and emotional relationship but their relationship becomes complicated when both of them get married to their respective girlfriends.
It’s a heart-wrenching modern-day classic for every LGBT+ individual.
My Own Private Idaho
My Own Private Idaho is a 1991 American independent adventure drama film written and directed by Gus Van Sant and stars young Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix.
The story is about Mike Waters (River Phoenix) is a gay hustler afflicted with narcolepsy. Scott Favor (Keanu Reeves) is the rebellious son of a mayor. Together, the two travel from Portland, Oregon to Idaho and finally to the coast of Italy in a quest to find Mike’s estranged mother. Along the way they turn tricks for money and drugs, eventually attracting the attention of a wealthy benefactor and sexual deviant.

This 2018 rom-com can be streamed on Netflix and it’s really funny and refreshing to watch.
A high school senior plans on losing his virginity to his girlfriend. Things get complicated when he meets a handsome and charming gay kid from the other side of town who unwittingly sends him on a roller-coaster journey of sexual identity.
Dallas Buyers Club
This 2013 movie starring famous Texan actor Matthew McConaughey.
This movie won Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto Oscars at the 2014 Academy Awards. But even more than being Oscar bait, it tells the important story of real-life mid-1980s electrician Ron Woodroof, who is diagnosed with AIDS and given 30 days to live. Ron, a rodeo cowboy diagnosed with AIDS, discovers a banned drug that can help patients survive longer. To get around the system, he forms a club to smuggle the medicine to those in need. He smuggles unapproved therapies and drugs into the U.S., and with a fellow AIDS patient (Jared Leto), he sells those treatments to other people in need of them.
Bad Education
Directed by the famous Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, this 2004 movie “La Mala Educacion” goes through the story of a young boy. When an old friend brings filmmaker Enrique Goded (Fele Martínez) a semi-autobiographical script chronicling their adolescence, Enrique is forced to relive his youth spent at a Catholic boarding school. Weaving through past and present, the script follows a transvestite performer (Gael García Bernal) who reconnects with a grade school sweetheart. Spurred on by this chance encounter, the character reflects on her childhood sexual victimization and the trauma of closeting her sexual orientation.
