Since we’re well into over a month into the pandemic, our normal is becoming this current pandemic situation. It is hard to feel normal and give our 100% every day when our daily lives are challenged and our mind constantly worried about the ramping numbers of worldwide cases.

Many millennials already increasingly report feeling burned out, overstressed and are overthinking. Side jobs became our generation’s hustle. And even to our leisure-time hobbies, like crafts, society puts a pressure of having to make money. We take a sense of pride in our business and go really hard on ourselves as if we were machines.

Not okay!

This type of hurtful content has been going around lately and we want you to know that it’s not okay.

We’re living through a global pandemic that has hurt and continue to hurt many people on Earth. This is not a productivity, weight loss or self-actualization contest. We are all tired, hurt and a lot of new emotion is surfacing. Take all the time you need to fully recharge and recover.
No excuses.

This got ourselves thinking. Arianna Huffington talks about how there’s a new metric for success now. She calls it thriving.

Here are 12 tips we learned on thriving from Arianna’s book:

  1. Get 30 minutes more sleep tonight!
  2. Move your body.
  3. Meditate for at least 5 minutes a day.
  4. Listen to your inner wisdom & let go of what you no longer need.
  5. Use a skill or talent you have to help someone.
  6. Forgive yourself for any judgment you are holding against yourself.
  7. Start a gratitude list.
  8. Each night turn off your devices and gently escort them out of your bedroom.
  9. Pick an image that ignites joy in you.
  10. Make a personal connection to people you might normally take for granted. This will make you feel more alive and kind.
  11. Make small gestures of kindness and pay attention to how this affects your mind, body and emotions.
  12. Whenever you’re stressed, focus on the rising and fall of your breath for 10 seconds.
